I attended a session on the theme of Belonging, proposed and led by Maria Ortega Garcia, and it was a life-changing experience. I was in my car, in the most uncomfortable conditions to listen and participate in a meeting, but I felt that I "had to" join. Maria is an extremely professional and generous facilitator who intuits "the difficult path" and gently guides you back home. So, perhaps for the first time, I was truly myself. I spoke about my trauma, my sense of non-belonging, and the relationship between my native language and English and French. Maria later shared the slides shown during the session and suggested a valuable book, Welcome Home: A Guide to Building a Home for Your Soul by Najwa Zebian, which I have already started reading. I would like to conclude by saying that the session had a transformative impact on me.
