Follow the Breadcrumbs: a poetry workshop

April 6 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Follow the Breadcrumbs: a poetry workshop on the pull of home is a two-hour poetry therapy workshop facilitated by Maria Ortega, PTP, from the Irish Poetry Therapy Network. This workshop invites participants to explore “home” not as a fixed place, but as something shifting, elusive, and deeply felt.

Drawing on poems by Henrietta Goodman and Jane Hirshfield, alongside James Baldwin’s idea of home as “an irrevocable condition,” we will gently engage with the theme of fairytales. Through shared reading and reflective writing, participants will be supported in responding to images of places where home appears, disappears, or transforms.

This is a supportive, confidential space focused on personal exploration and expression. Guided prompts and optional sharing will help participants connect with their own experiences of home, whether real, remembered, or imagined.

No writing experience is needed, only a willingness to reflect, write, and follow where the breadcrumbs may lead.
